Description : Experience township vibe with the only Backpacker in Khayelitsha. This stylish and neat backpackers will get you close and personal with local life on the walks of the area, visit the nearby craft market to buy that special gift to take home. Immerse yourself to a township vibe with the visit to a sangoma, a drink-fest at a shebeen and a traditional eKasie meal. At night curl up on one of our Afro-chic rooms and let the sounds of the lokshin* rock you to sleep. eKasie Backpackers is mainly self-catering but also prepares and provides meals on request. Visitors are able to help themselves to a basic breakfast, and thereafter join one of the many Khayelitsha day trips for tours, taking you from the local market right through to Khayelitsha’s own Lookout Hill, ending your township experience with traditional meal at eKasie’s dinning area. eKasie Backpackers boasts five bedrooms named after biggest townships in South Africa namely: Khayelitsha, Soweto, Mdantsane, KwaMashu and Qwaqwa. Three of these rooms have en-suite bathrooms; the other two rooms have separate bathroom. Soweto and KwaMashu are private rooms catering for those visitors who prefer a more comfortable accommodation like a B&B type. There is a communal dining and a sitting area, aptly called the 'Chat Room', where visitors can exchange their travelling experiences. eKasie also have an entertainment area with a pool table, bar and a braai facilties. We have a conference area with Internet access to host social and corporate events for a maximum of 30 people seated. Parking for a mini-bus is available.
