What to bringWhatever time of the year you go to South Africa, light clothing will most likely be enough, although you’d better bring a rain jacket and, if you’re going in the winter, a few warm clothes just in case. Sunscreen is a must, as well as a hat and sunglasses. Insect repellent can be very useful too. If you want to go to the parks to see wild animals, it is better not to wear bright colours, but you don’t need the khaki outfits at all.
It is better to have copies of your important documents, like passports. You should remember the numbers of your credit card and of your passport, just in case. Don’t worry if you forget to buy some equipment, you will be able to find almost everything there, often at very cheap prices.
